Visual Motor Skills
Visual motor and perceptual skills are foundational for developing and enhancing both fine and gross motor skills. They play a key role in several other areas of a child’s life including play, Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), and academic activities. Visual motor and perceptual skills differ from visual acuity. Visual acuity refers to how clearly a person can see. Visual motor and perceptual skills refer to the movement of the eyes and how the brain processes visual information. These include skills such as visual tracking, convergence/divergence, visual attention, and figure ground.
